I’ve always been a massive fan of fantasy novels, but after finishing The Red Queen saga (which I absolutely loved!), I found myself drowning in a sea of fantasy books that went a little too far. That’s when I stumbled upon A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) by Sarah J. Maas.
At first, I’ll admit, I was hesitant. ACOTAR is hugely popular, and I often find myself disappointed with bestsellers. After diving in, I’m thrilled to say that I was completely wrong.

Maas’s ability to incorporate mystery, romance, and humor kept me hooked from start to finish. This isn’t just another fantasy novel with a typical love story. Instead, Maas layers the romance in such a way that it’s a significant part of the story, but not the only focus.
The best part? The plot is unpredictable. I never knew what was coming next. The stakes are high, the twists and turns are genuinely shocking, and the characters have space for personal development.
Is A Court of Thorns and Roses Worth the Hype? Yes, absolutely! Maas has earned her popularity with A Court of Thorns and Roses. The way she manages to balance captivating plotlines, detailed world-building, and emotional character arcs is no easy accomplishment. If you’re a fan of fantasy, or even if you’re looking for a new fantasy series to binge, ACOTAR deserves a place at the top of your list.
Summary
