1. Be active in class:

Have you ever realized that the teachers know their best students?

You want the professor to know who you are. If you show interest in the subject, the chances of having a higher grade will increase.

Not only that, you should also be taking notes. Make the most out of each lecture. Try to write down relevant information. The aesthetic of your notes shouldn’t be your priority. Instead, focus on understanding the explanations and connecting ideas.

Use your time wisely: a topic you understand in class is one you don’t have to work on at home.

PRO TIP: write down the examples or interesting facts the teachers tell in class. Topics will be easier to memorize.

2. Revise subjects at home:

Revising doesn’t mean studying or reading. Revising should be an active work. You want to go through the lectures because the more you revise, the easier you memorize.

The best way to preview what you should learn for the exams is by tidying your notes. Not prioritizing the aesthetics of your notes in class doesn’t mean you can’t have beautiful notes. This way, you will go through all your notes and unconsciously revise the subjects.

3. Be organized:

What do all the straight-A students have in common? They are organized. The goal is to be productive and make the most out of your time.

Write down to-do lists, dates, events… It will help you to stick to studying. At the same time, planning will allow you to get things done early.

4. Maintain healthy habits:

Productivity isn’t possible without balance. You want your study time to be the most effective possible. For that, it is essential to disconnect and to rest.

These habits are fundamental to being your best version:

  • Have a good sleeping schedule: sleep at least 8 hours!
  • Work out, go on a walk. Don’t spend the day sitting on your desk. Moving will allow your mind to disconnect.
  • Fuel yourself: eat healthy food and drink enough water (you can’t live off of coffee and fast food!)

5. Do a little every day:

Studying is a long-distance run, so try to work a little daily.

Studying for 2 hours daily is more productive than spending 10 hours on the weekend. By working day by day, you’ll get things done early, stick to your habits, and have time for yourself on weekends.

Take at least 1 hour every day to do college-related work. Even though you have no assignment or project, use that hour to revise your lessons or preview what you will learn the next day.
