How to Reflect on 2025 and Learn Meaningful Life Lessons
This blog post is all about 2025 reflections.
2025 has come to an end. It has been a rollercoaster of a year, at least for me.
Instead of rushing to 2026, reflecting on 2025 can be helpful for self-improvement.
Here’s how to reflect on your 2025 year to learn essential lessons and move into 2026 with clear intentions.

Questions to Ask Yourself When Reflecting on 2025
For our reflections to be helpful, we need to ensure that we ask ourselves the correct questions.
These questions are designed to guide you from reviewing your goals, to understanding your emotions, and finally to preparing for change in 2026.
Your yearly reflections should follow this order:
- Make a list of your 2025 goals: Include goals you completed, abandoned, or forgot about.
- Reflect on your achievement level of those goals: Focus on progress, not perfection.
- Answer the following questions:
- What have you liked the most about the year? Think about moments that gave you energy or peace.
- What have you liked the least? Be honest about what drained or stressed you.
- What are you grateful for? Small, everyday moments count.
- What can you change in 2026? Identify one habit, boundary, or priority to adjust.
Try to be sincere when answering these questions. Thanks to them, you will be able to identify what made your year great, and what you should change to make 2026 even better.
They will become your 2026 goal-setting starting point.

My Personal Reflections on 2025
2025 has been a great year for me. I have been able to spend a lot of time with my friends, as well as with my family.
I have come to appreciate the small things in life. For instance, being able to make some cookies on a Sunday morning, or eating at my grandparents’ house.
What I have liked the least? The load college takes on my mental health. Even though I don’t have much work to do, I schedule my days around it. That leaves me with not enough time for my hobbies, leading to burnout.
Overall, 2025 taught me that without clear priorities and boundaries, even good things like college can slowly lead to burnout.
Reflecting on 2025 made me realize that unclear goals and poor planning were holding me back more than a lack of motivation.
My 2025 goals weren’t good enough; I didn’t put much thought into them, so I haven’t been set on achieving those goals.
In 2026 I will take my goals seriously. I have already set my goals, as well as a to-do list to achieve them. Remember that creating new habits is essential to get our goals.
Have you taken the time to reflect on your 2025 year? Write down your main takeaway, then feel free to share it in the comments.
