“Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” is one of the most popular kdramas, so, at first, I was hesitant to watch it. However, I admit I have been surprised.
Thrilling, funny, lovely, and scary, all at the same time, is what this series has turned out to be. Not the typical kdrama with weak characters with the only problem of not finding love. No. “Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” goes beyond that and shows the violence and harassment women have to go through every day: the fear of going home alone and the lack of security and help.
I love that even though the main components of the series are cliche, they turn them around to create a groundbreaking series.
“Strong Woman Do Bong Soon” is the typical series you go back to whenever you are lost or need something to hype you up. Imagine, I have already watched it three times.
PS: I have just finished “Strong Girl Nam Soon” (the sequel of this series), and I admit I am not over the couple Bong Soon and Myn Hyok make. How can they be so cute?💜
Synopsis
Do Bong Soon comes from a long line of women possessing Herculean strength. But Bong Soon can only use her strength for good; if she uses it for her own personal gain or to mistreat others, she can lose her strength forever like her mother, Hwang Jin Yi. Bong Soon’s twin brother, Do Bong Ki did not inherit the unusual family strength and is a doctor, but Bong Soon has trouble finding gainful employment as an aspiring game developer.
When Ahn Min Hyuk, the young CEO of AIN Software, a gaming company, witnesses Bong Soon’s amazing strength against a group of gangsters one day, he hires her to be his personal bodyguard to help him catch a man who has been making death threats against him. Bong Soon has a secret crush on her childhood friend, In Guk Doo, a police detective who is trying to capture a dangerous kidnapper in Bong Soon’s neighborhood.
