10 Christmas movies to watch for a perfect Holiday season.

10 Must-Watch Christmas Movies

1. The Holiday

I feel like there hasn’t been a single Christmas in my house where we haven’t watched this movie. It’s my mother’s all-time favourite Christmas movie, so we can’t say no to her.

The Holiday has the most perfect romantic stories, while actually having a strong storyline. And what can I say about its soundtrack? Hans Zimmer is the composer, and everything he does is a masterpiece.

2. Home Alone

Home Alone is a Christmas classic. There is no better comedy movie than this one. If the whole family is down for a movie night, Home Alone is your pick.

3. Love Actually

Love Actually is another typical Christmas movie. I don’t know a single person who hasn’t ever watched Love Actually.

You could say Love Actually is the old (not that old, actually) reliable Christmas movie.

4. The Princess Switch

Until now, we have seen classic movies; The Princess Switch is a more modern choice. It centers on two romantic stories, but it definitely has its comedic side too. This one is another perfect choice for a family movie night.

5. Holidate

I don’t know if Holidate is a popular movie or not, but I think it’s another movie that we watch at my house every year. I wouldn’t say this movie stands out for anything, but it’s a secure choice when you have nothing else to watch.

It’s one of those movies you don’t get tired of watching.

6. The Noel Diary

I watched The Noel Diary for the first time last year, and I fell in love with it. I know it’s the typical cliché Christmas movie, but there’s something that made it stand out. Maybe it’s the heartfelt development of the protagonists, or just watching them slowly fall in love, but I like it a lot.

7. How The Grinch Stole Christmas

What is Christmas without The Grinch? I’m not a big fan of this movie, but I just HAVE to watch it every year. I believe Christmas doesn’t begin until I watch this movie.

8. Frozen

What can I say about Frozen? It might be considered a kids’ pick, but I still love it. Ever since I first watched it at ten years old, I haven’t stopped enjoying its music and magic. I think it has one of Disney’s best soundtracks, and what else do I need during Christmas than a sing-along movie?

9. Little Women

I have never watched the old original movie, but I proudly say I have watched the new Little Women at least 5 times. Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, Timothee Chalamet, and the list goes on and on. It has an insanely good cast, and let’s be fair, the movie is a 10/10.

10. Crazy Rich Asians

Well, I know this last movie technically isn’t a Christmas movie, but it’s MY Christmas movie. I think we all have (or should have) that movie that we watch every Christmas, but we wouldn’t categorize as a Christmas movie.

Every year, I reward myself with this movie after a hard day of studying (because yes, my exam season starts in January 🤯), and it’s my favourite part of the day.
